DMT :: DIVINE MOMENT OF TRANSFIGURATION
Vector Illustration By :: Brian C. Zickafoose © 2011

A new illustration by artist Brian Zickafoose titled – DMT-Divine Moment of Transfiguration, delves into mysteries concerning supernatural agents, inter-dimensional astronauts and altered perceptions. Zickafoose bounds through the aeons to an era when artist and shaman were one and the same, where the collective conscious and the well-being of the tribe were dependent on the distant etheogenic explorations of the medicine man and where special fruits of the forest were selected for their messianic properties and consumed for the prosper of all, in an effort to understand the paradox of the grand illusion we know as reality.[read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

DMT depicts the artist, Zickafoose, in shamanic garb and telling tales of altered perception to his infant daughter, Xia Yasmine Zickafoose, as she, the light-bearer, holds a candle high, while the artist etches epic figures from visions into the rock for future epochs to behold.

Whatever Happened to Attitudes? Woove Reporter Eva Luton Interviews Promoter Brian Zickafoose About Art, Music, and the Future of Attitudes Bar and Cafe.

At the end of the last semester, rumors began to circulate around Blacksburg that Attitudes Bar and Cafe was discontinuing their popular calendar of live music and entertainment acts. In the wake of the closure of local music club The Lantern and a significant decline in the frequency of underground concerts in Blacksburg, such as house shows in basements and living rooms, The Woove staff was eager to find out the truth about the fate of Attitudes. A small team of reporters organized an interview with local music promoter, artist, and cultural figure Brian Zickafoose, who has most recently been responsible for booking shows at the venue. Woove reporter Eva Luton asked Zickafoose about these rumors and about his own career, including his art that appeared on a recent issue of local arts and culture magazine 16 Blocks and his history in promoting music in Blacksburg, especially at the now defunct Lantern. My birth, I am here!

November 11, 2010 / Blog, News / 2 Comments

Aaaaaand my site is born. Wow. Welcome. Is it a coincidence that this web site enjoys the same date of birth as its creator? I think not.

After many furious years of struggle, I emerge in 2010 here on the world wide web as my own entity. As an artist. This web site will not only serve as my online archive but as a tool that I’ll use to reach out to my fan base and teach my art, literally giving it back to the people. Through my blog and through intensive case studies of select clients, I’ll bring transparency to the visual magic that I create. If you are interested in hearing from me, be sure to sign up for the email list on the Contact page.

Cheers!
