We are pleased to announce that artist Brian Zickafoose will be a guest in the upcoming New Directions art exhibit and opening night celebration hosted by The Fayetteville Arts Coalition on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00-11:00pm. Born and raised in Fayette County, WV, the show is a homecoming of sorts for Zickafoose, who recently returned to the area after having spent a decade working and residing in Roanoke, Virginia. New Directions will exhibit select original paintings by Zickafoose along with the work of fifteen local artists (Mike Turner, Meredith Gregg, Tracy Martin, Tara Fowler, Paul Corbit Brown, Tandi Stephens, Sara Miller, Julie Wingard, Brad and Emily Weckesser, Ron Hall, Adam Morton, Doug Coleman, Ginger Danz and Shea Wells). Shop for paintings, jewelry, ceramics, photography, glass etchings, and wood carvings – there’s something for everyone. The highlight of opening night festivities will be the official unveiling of a new metal sign sculpture by world renowned metal designer Jeff Fetty. The new sign stands as a symbol to mark Fayetteville’s arrival on the world stage as a pinnacle outdoor lifestyle and arts destination. Situated on the corner of Keller Avenue and Court Street in Fayetteville, the sculpture bolsters whimsical arrows pointing towards Moab, Yosemite, and Zambezi — three world class destinations that are also renowned for mountain biking, rock climbing and whitewater. Don’t worry if you can’t attend opening night, the Fayetteville Arts Coalition Fine Arts Cooperative will be open Friday through Sunday during the month of December.
