About the Art
I was inspired to paint these two pieces during the Great American Eclipse that happened in August of 2017.
On my way to an eclipse viewing party, I was bit on the hand by a spider. OUCH!
Later as we were witnessing celestial bodies in motion, I removed my glasses for a moment and saw a jewel net blossoming outward from the sun, similar to a spider web.
The shear power of that experience combined with the potent spider medicine in my blood moved me to weave that sense of awe into a painting.
Native Americans have traditionally regarded the spider as an allegorical symbol for the creative process. I have also adopted the spider as an animal totem of my own creativity.
How incredible a creature to create and maintain such an elaborate web for its sustenance.

About the Art
This painting was started at the 2017 Visionary Art Painting Intensive under the direction and tutelage of Alex and Allyson Grey at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in Wappingers Falls, New York.
The concept behind this was conceived by Brian Zickafoose as an allegory for the challenges of the creative path. When the artist stay in the creative bubble, the path is true, while danger and peril often loom in the shadows nearby.

A soft autumn breeze blows leaves from the trees. Stars twinkle while a fat little fox flanks the shadowy bank of the Buckhannon River by the covered bridge as the moon first breaks the top of the ridge. This painting celebrates the covered bridges of a bygone era. Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

About the Artwork
High above the tree tops, a falcon stirs from an early morning rain as the first rays of the sun shatters the dew. In the belly of the New River Gorge, a dense veil of geometric shapes falls into the chasm like pick-up sticks. The fog dissipates slightly in the distance to reveal the spine of the New River Gorge Bridge bent across the background. The heat of the morning sun unchains misty, angelic, vapor into the atmosphere. “All Eyes on the Sunrise” is the artist’s tribute to the breath taking, mystical mornings of West Virginia. Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

About the Artwork
Here we have the second installment in the Flight of Fancy Series by visionary artist, Brian C. Zickafoose. Our friend Fancy is suspended inside a torus shaped subatomic chamber as photon beams stream past in blinding speeds. The static of uncertainty dispatches on bulbous monitor screens across the walls of the chamber as we turn the corner ever faster. “Do you see?” – asks Fancy in a feverish whisper. Limited edition paper and canvas prints are available.
